Roscoe Turner is the only three time winner of the Thompson Trophy Race which he won in 1938 and 1939 in his Meteor race plane.
TheRoscoe Turner's Meteor kit is a 1:15 scale flying model. Pre-1942 design, eligible for Flying Aces Club events including Old Time kit, Thompson Races, Golden Age, and Flying Aces Club (FAC) Scale and Society of Antique Modelers (SAM) contests. This is a complete kit and includes all the materials necessary to construct a flying scale model of one of the three versions of Turner´s race plane, the 1937 Ring Free, the 1938 Pesco Special or the 1939 Champion. The kit is based on the 1939 Easy Built Models´ plan but has been updated to reflect today´s designs and materials.
This free flight rubber powered kit contains a full-size rolled plan, printed balsa and hand-picked balsa strip wood, rubber motor, E-B propeller, EBM thrust bearing, vacuum-molded wheel pants and canopy, wheels, TissueCal™ markings for all three versions (Champion, Ring Free, and Pesco), and Easy Built Lite tissue in light grey. To build this model you will need a building board, hobby knife, fine sandpaper, and glue.
