The Spitfire was conceived as an interceptor with high speed, heavy armament, high rate of climb, and the agility to make repeated attacks as well as to fight off escorting aircraft. Its characteristic elliptical wing shape, thinner than any other fighter of the day, coupled with an innovative aerodynamic ducted radiator produced extra power worth 70 hp at 300 mph.

CUSTOMER BUILDS & INFO
"The model is powered by a Park 480 motor with a Spectrum full range receiver and HC feather micro servos, 2200MA Lipo battery. It also has a 30 amp esc." - Martin Wladyka
"Here are photos of my 50 inch Spitfire, it has 4 channel r/c. I beefed up the structure a bit and first flights are very nice. Thanks for supplying these models! Modern electric power has made them very nice r/c options." - Ken Nash
"I decided to go the whole hog and make it electric and controllable. I have beefed it up to be fully functional with all controls and retracts. I am having fun with it. I have a size .25 e-flite electric motor for it. I just have to install the engine and cover the outside. I hope it works as well as it looks. I was able to wash out the wing tips when I put it together so I don't think stall will be too bad." - Garth Minish
