Designed by Austrian Igo Etrich, the Taube is a bird shaped aircraft from the early days of flight. It was used by the Germans in WWI for reconnaissance and training. Etrich's first Taube was built in 1910, a precursor of the nimble fighters of WWI. This kit is a model of the most widely produced version, the 1913 two-seat military monoplane.
This display model kit contains a full-size rolled plan, LASER CUT balsa parts, hand-picked balsa strip wood, dowels, wire, LaserCal™ markings, and Easy Built Lite tissue in linen. To build this model you will need a building board, hobby knife, fine sandpaper, and glue. The builder determines the level of detail for this model and may need to supply additional materials.
CUSTOMER BUILDS & INFO:
Chuck Duncan's electric r/c Taube conversion started life with a 4.5 ohm pager motor and 16/1 gearing of a 6/3 prop and 32 grams all up weight. In January 2006 he made some changes ..."I converted it to a 7mm pager motor and picked up about 30% more power and only about 1 gram of weight (33 grams all up weight). Flies for about 10 minutes on a single 170 mAh LiPo cell. So now it flies like a bird. Flying site is the National Building Museum in Washington DC." -Chuck Duncan
"Hello EasyBuilt. These are some pictures of my Taube. ... I have made some changes to the kit. Electric RC conversion with brushless and AR6400 Spektrum receiver. 10 minutes of realistic flight, so cool." - Michel Boudineau, Geneva, Switzerland
