The Spitfire kit was the subject in 2012 at the annual contest of the Uwanosora Flying Club, Toyota, Japan. Building Notes: "The winner was Mr. Takamura and the flying time was 75 seconds. The radiator of Spitfire kit is optional, but Spitfire MK1 must have 1 radiator for keeping scale. The ribs of the wing are too small for keeping strength. Many members added 1 rib on each wing. Your white propeller is heavier than Peck’s silver propeller about 1 gram. They changed from your propeller to Peck’s propeller." - Shingo Kitaura, Uwanosora

"This time I made a Spitfire Mk. 1. Added spars to the torso for added strength. It's difficult to make the canopy part look exactly like the real machine if it's the same as the kit, so I changed it a little."

"I used 1/16 sq stick to build a front windscreen framework to aid in the cockpit construction. I also made the wing one piece and added a wing saddle to the fuselage sides construction. I added a couple extra stringers to the top of the fuselage and the bottom of the nose area in front of the wing. This worked out very nicely in adding to the roundness of the fuselage without adding too much weight. I used the green tissue and substituted some of your brown tissue for the top base color for the camouflage scheme. The scheme was based on a Polish Squadron flying Spits early in the War. I used your black and white tissue for the bottom scheme." - Tom Akery
